About Us

Media • Design • Build

The Kizmet Experience Studio (or “KZMTx”) is a purpose-driven, interdisciplinary practice for creative direction. We produce experiences.

The studio was founded in 2020 by award-winning creative director, producer and hip-hop artist Roshmond “Sum” Patten. Projects span from experiential to web, interactive, music, film & tv productions, built spaces and more. We have designed spaces and landscapes, produced video and streaming experiences, created interactive music experiences, and overseen the creation of data visualizations, music visualizers and digital campaigns. While it may appear disparate, all these projects are tied together by philosophy and approach. See more on that below. Our collaborators are in the public, private and education sectors. Activism and entertainment are native arenas for The Kizmet Experience. Our team includes many award-winning creatives that include:

art directors, graphic designers, architects, data visualization specialists, motion graphic artists, interior designers, floral designers, experiential designers, copywriters, strategists, photographers, cinematographers, editors, animators and more.

The Kizmet Experience delivers concept focused, holistic, full service design solutions that can exist online, on big screens, at a venue, or out in the great wide open. In fact, we’ll take any chance to get outdoors and connect with wilderness. Designing a permanent garden installation is a longtime goal for us.

The KZMTx mission is to create work that seeks harmony *and* stands out. As a collective lead by creatives of color, we seek alignment where design and liberation align.

Our aim is trifold:

  1. Lend seasoned creative direction to projects intended to positively impact culture, community, and climate

  2. Bring a sense of responsible and *responsive design to entertainment and experiential

  3. Empower disadvantaged communities with positively charged spaces and experiences

*Responsive means living, but can also be interpreted as our way of counteracting what we believe is a subversive campaign to normalize negativity, evil and suffering for capital gain. This campaign reaches throughout media and the arts. Our projects will emanate positivity, and inspire solutions.

Our approach pulls from a multitude of inspirations, from feng shui and traditional Polynesian wayfinding, to biophilic design and hip-hop. On any given project other influences might include zen gardening, vertical gardening, typography, architecture, natural and holistic healing, ayurveda, brutalism, and minimalism.

Our aim is to elevate the existing, not to colonize it. We achieve this using the most creative and sustainable means available.
